Letter from the Rector: Easter and Holy Week 2022

Dear siblings in Christ,

I write to you this day for several reasons. First, I invite you to experience Holy Week and Easter with Church of Our Saviour. Our ritual remembrance of Christ’s arrest, crucifixion, death, and resurrection will be all the better if you choose to spend your time among us in worship (virtually or in person).

Moreover, this year represents an opportunity to come together in worship in a new way. We will include Grace Chapel as our setting for the Holy Week liturgies. To that end, I share with you our Holy Week and Easter schedule. Please spread the below near and far!

Maundy Thursday (4/14) - 7:30 pm

Holy Eucharist with symbolic washing of feet. Communion and Stripping of the Altar. (Online and in person, in English in Grace Chapel. Online in Mandarin.)

Good Friday (4/15)

Audio Stations of the Cross. (Available all day online.)

7:30 pm - Good Friday liturgy with veneration of the Cross. (Online and in person in English in Grace Chapel. Online in Mandarin).

Easter Vigil (4/16) - 7:30 pm

Holy Eucharist and first celebration of Easter. (Online and in person, starting in Grace Chapel and concluding in our Historic Sanctuary).

Easter Day (4/17)

8:00 am - Holy Eucharist Rite I. (In person in Grace Chapel)

9:30 am - Holy Eucharist Rite II. (Online and in person in our Historic Sanctuary)

10:45 am - Easter Egg Hunt. (in Peppertree Lane, behind Cleaver Hall)

11:15 am - Holy Eucharist in Mandarin. (Online and in person in our Historic Sanctuary)

4:00 pm - Holy Eucharist. (In person in Grace Chapel)

Each year, Church of Our Saviour requests donations at Christmas and Easter for musical additions unique to the season. This year, I ask the same, as we plan for live music during all of the Easter services.

If I am not able to tell you in person, let me here wish you a Happy Easter. Alleluia! Christ Is Risen!

Faithfully,

Jeff+
