Food Pantry Update: VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Like many others in the food services industry, Martin was furloughed at the peak of the pandemic when the hotel he was working at shut down. A sous chef with a decade of experience working in restaurants and hotels, Martin decided to use this time to become a Food Pantry volunteer at OSC.

Today Martin can be found helping to organize the Food Pantry pick-up line—as well as training volunteers, loading vehicles, directing traffic, and more. Martin’s warm and giving personality extends beyond the drive-up line. He recently cooked and served a delicious homemade lunch of tacos, beans & rice, and freshly made salsas to his fellow OSC volunteers and staff. Like the wonderful meal he prepared, Martin’s generosity extends to our neighbors and his peers through his love of food. We are incredibly fortunate to have volunteers like Martin who share with us their time, talent, and treasure with us each week.
