“There is nothing so contagious as holiness, nothing more pervasive than Prayer. This is precisely what the traditional Church means by evangelism and what distinguishes it from recruitment.”
— Martin Thornton
How do we recognize holiness in our own lives? Perhaps it begins with St. Paul’s fruits of the Spirit — love, joy, and peace — or with Jesus’ Beatitudes: Blessed are the peacemakers, blessed are the persecuted. Holiness is not perfection but a way of being that allows God’s grace to flow through us into the world.
On this Quiet Day, we’ll set aside time to pause, pray, and wonder together about holiness, prayer, and what it truly means to live as evangelists of grace rather than recruiters for religion. Through guided reflection, silence, and shared conversation, we’ll explore questions such as:
Who are we, and who are we called to be?
What is God inviting us to do in this season of our lives?
How do love, joy, and peace take root and bear fruit in our daily living?
This reflective morning will be led by the Rev. Jim Clark, former COS associate priest, who will guide us through moments of teaching, silence, and prayer. Come rest from the noise of the world and spend a few sacred hours in stillness, reflection, and renewal. All are welcome.
Please RSVP to info@cosepiscopal.org.
Join us Saturday, October 18, from 9:30 am to 1 pm starting in the historic sanctuary at Church of Our Saviour, San Gabriel.

Sometimes you just have too many assignments, and buying paper online ends up saving the day. I recently decided to buy essay online, and it turned out way better than expected. I’ve tried buying term paper services before too, but I’m still searching for the best place to buy essay paper that’s actually reliable.
