Letter from the Rector: STEWARDSHIP 2022 IS HERE!

Dear siblings in Christ,

As a priest of the church, I am prone to observe and proclaim resurrection as an ongoing, ever-expanding process in our lives. God is always transforming what we know (good and bad) into that which we could only imagine. Of course, it is always more challenging to identify resurrection in real time, because the process can be so frustratingly slow. At Church of Our Saviour, we continue the journey of expanding our outreach, worship, and teaching while simultaneously cultivating a more healthy, sustainable, and robust organization. Over the past year, COS has made great strides (thanks to our dedicated parishioners), but we have so much further to go! I write this letter to invite your ongoing participation in the life of this parish through the 2022 Stewardship Campaign.

In the coming year, your vestry and staff leaders will continue to offer worship (digitally and in person) in ever-expanding ways that seek to meet the needs of our community. For staffing and planning purposes, our wardens and I have named COS’ ministry for seniors and pastoral care, along with reaching out to young families in our neighborhood, as the most important initiatives in the coming year. More than that, your vestry has identified several one-time capital expenses in COS’ near future including fixing audio issues in the historic sanctuary and ensuring that our campus is safe for those with mobility issues. For these reasons, your vestry is once again asking for your pledge for the 2022 annual giving campaign. We are also asking for a one-time “pledge plus” gift. This gift will be used for specific building upgrades identified by the vestry.

In addition to rebuilding and expanding our ministries, COS is also restoring our sense of community and fellowship. For that reason, all of you are invited to one of several gatherings at the rectory during and after this year’s Stewardship Campaign. These gatherings will be for fun and fellowship. They will also

be an opportunity for you to ask any and all questions of me and other lay leaders. No matter how much or little you give, simply turning in the pledge card (you will be receiving this in the mail, or ask an usher for a pledge card) with your preferred “gathering date” checked on the back is your ticket to one of these events.

I cannot thank you enough for being a part of this wonderful community. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions whatsoever.

Faithfully,

Jeff+
