Church of Our Saviour (COS) Community Barbeque and Laós Chamber Music will collaborate on Saturday, September 16 for an afternoon of gorgeous music, delicious food, and the much-anticipated Annual COS Bake-Off.
Starting at 4 pm, Laós Chamber Music’s concert, titled “Autumn Soiree,” will launch its 2023–2024 season with chamber orchestral music by Debussy, Barber, Yoshimatsu, and Copland. Autumn Soiree will be held in our historic sanctuary. Following the concert at 5:30 pm, COS’s Community Barbeque will be held in Cleaver Hall and in Telleen Courtyard. This year’s mouth-watering menu will include BBQ chicken, smoked tri-tip, mac and cheese, Asian coleslaw, and Santa Maria-style baked beans.
In addition to the main events, COS will be holding its Annual Bake-Off during the BBQ. Contestants are encouraged to submit their prize-winning desserts by 5 pm on Saturday, September 16. A blind panel of judges will select the 2023–2024 COS Baker Laureate, and BBQ guests will get to sample the submissions for dessert!
“You won’t want to miss this COS tradition with a twist,” Dennis Duling, our COS Community BBQ organizer said. “Teaming up this year with our Laós ministry is a dream come true.”
Admission to the concert is free. Tickets for the COS Community BBQ are $15 per adult and available for purchase at the door, starting at 5:15 pm. Children ages 10 and under eat free. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit the ministries and programs of COS.
